Over the weekend I had the pleasure of reading Rockin’ Across The Galaxy: A Gsefx and Henry Novella by David Allen Kimmel. This sci-fi novel had me hooked from page 1. We meet Gsefx in the first chapter and despite being alien his character is all-too familiar. I related to him instantly, as I did with the human character, Henry.

The story follows these two as they face the struggles of everyday life. Each character has been thoroughly rounded and I could see the sense in their every action. The story follows these two characters to their inevitable encounter, accompanied by a mutual love of rock and roll.

I was disappointed to turn the final page and find the story had ended and am definitely looking forward to reading more of their adventures.

There’s very little to criticize about this book, except that I did get a little lost in the alien names for minutes/hours/days which were never quite explained. Aside from that minor confusion I thoroughly enjoyed Rockin’ Across the Galaxy.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a short (but very fun) read. The story line is simple enough that you can just sit back and read whilst also so entertaining that you completely loose track of time. 4 stars!
